The important roles of epidemiologists during disease outbreaks cannot be overstated, as they are usually the primary line of investigators during epidemics and pandemics. The ever-changing dynamics of disease outbreaks have led to the use of more advanced techniques of surveillance are being used. And this BioTalk is aimed at training established and aspiring epidemiologists in the use of digital tools in the tracking and investigations of outbreaks, and also exposed them to the periodic training and certifications required to boost competence as recommended by national and international health organisations.
