Course: Pandemic and epidemic-prone diseases

Bosede Alowooye is the State Epidemiologist under the Ekiti State Ministry of Health. She was employed into the Ekiti State Civil Service in 2006 and served as the Logistics Officer of the Malaria Control Unit from 2006 to 2008 and Monitoring and Evaluation Officer for the World Bank supported Avian Influenza Control Project from 2008 to 2010. As the pioneer Emergency Preparedness and Response Officer in Ekiti State Ministry of Health between 2011 – 2018, she strengthened the Emergency Preparedness unit in the state, and coordinated the Ebola response activities in Ekiti State during the 2014 Ebola outbreak and for Monkeypox outbreak in the state in 2017. She is also skilled at data collection, analysis, monitoring and evaluation, community engagement, outbreak investigation and response. She has multiple professional certifications within and outside the country, has publications to her name and has presented at conferences within and outside the country. Bosede has a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology and Masters in Public Health (MPH) in Laboratory Field Epidemiology from the Nigeria Field Epidemiology and Laboratory Training Program and the University of Ibadan. She is currently pursuing an online PhD from Texila American University.
